Rubik's Cube
November 10th 2008 10:58
One of the most popular toys of all time, over 300,000,000 Rubik's Cubes have been sold since its invention in 1974 (it went into mass production in 1980). Believe it or not, the world record time for solving the cube is 7.08 seconds set earlier in 2008.
If you've been living in a cave on Mars and don't know the rules for solving a Rubik's Cube, it works like this: Each of the six faces is covered by 9 stickers of six different colours - normally being white, yellow, orange, red, blue, and green. Each face can turn independently, thus mixing up the colours. To solve the puzzle, move the faces until each one is the same colour. Trust me the concept isn't that hard, only solving it is!
You can now play with virtual Rubik's Cubes online for free. Get in there and try to break the world record!
Genre: Classic Puzzle
Time to Play: 7 seconds to 7 days
Difficulty: Hard
