Escape the Room

April 28th 2008 12:43
Escape the room is a genre of online adventure game, usually created for Adobe Flash and utilizing a point and click style of play. The object of the game is to find a way to escape from a mysterious room. The room usually consists of a locked door, several objects to manipulate as well as hidden clues or secret compartments. The player must use the objects to interact with other items in the room to reveal a way to escape. The term "escape the room" and popularity of the genre is often attributed to MOTAS (2001), though this style of gameplay has been present in adventure games which predate it, such as the 1994 DOS computer game, Noctropolis.

Online Cluedo

March 14th 2008 12:04
At the beginning of play, three cards — one Suspect, one Weapon, and one Room card — are chosen at random and put into a special envelope, so that no one can see them. These cards represent the true facts of the case. The remainder of the cards are distributed among the players.

The aim is to deduce the details of the murder; that is, the cards in the envelope. There are six different characters, six possible murder weapons and nine different rooms (typically Hall, Lounge, Dining Room, Kitchen, Ballroom, Conservatory, Billiard Room, Library, and Study), giving 324 possible solutions. In the course of determining the details of the murder, players announce suggestions to the other players, for example, "I suggest it was Mrs. White, in the Library, with the Rope." All elements contained in the suggestion are moved into the room in the suggestion

How Well do you Know Your World

November 26th 2007 09:47
This is a fantastic way to test your geography skills. Your given locations around the world, and you have to click on the map where you think they are. The closer you get, the more points you will score. You also score more points for being quick. A certain number of points are required to proceed to the next level and there are 12 in all. It gets really hard towards the end so keep concentrating, but it's a lot of fun.
