Hogwarts Live (abbreviated as HL) is a text-based, multi-player, browser-based CRPG or MMORPG with an active member base of approximately 6,500 players. It is intended as a pseudo-parody of Harry Potter's world created by British fantasy author J. K. Rowling.
HL was first publicly released in March of 2004 and has steadily been growing in numbers since then. During the summer of 2005 the game populous exceeded that of 12,000 players. It is currently frequented by players from over 120 different countries.
The primary focus of the game is to fight the infamous Dark Lord Voldemort who is terrorizing the Wizarding world. However, what happens after that is one of the best-kept secrets of the game.
