Entropia Universe massively multiplayer online virtual universe. Like Second Life, Entropia has its own currency with a fixed exchange rate to the US dollar, however unlike SL Entropia is set in the planet of Calypso and has more features of a traditional MMORPG.
Players are colonists who attempt to tame and develop the planet. Entropia is free to play, but you must buy items before being able to participate fully in the game. Goods and services can be bought and sold as in real life, then players can make withdrawals into US dollars at any time minus a transaction fee.
Players create their own detailed Avatars, and there are many special weapons, tools and other items to be bought and sold. There are dangerous creatures on Calypso players must protect themselves from, and many valuable minerals to be mined.
