Codebreaker

November 30th 2009 20:42
A Codebreaker is a crossword puzzle with no clues! Instead, every letter of the alphabet has been replaced by a number, the same number representing the same letter throughout the puzzle.
All you have to do is decide which letter is represented by which number!
To start you off, we reveal the codes for two or three letters.
When these letters have been entered throughout the puzzle, you should have enough information to start guessing words and discovering other letters.
Entering Letters
To enter a word, simply click on the square in which you want to begin typing. The color of the selected square will appear in yellow.
Type the letter you believe is the correct letter represented by the number in that square. All other occurrences of that letter will be filled in automatically.

Use the save and restore buttons to return to your game at a later time.

If you get stuck, try the reveal letter or solution buttons to help you out.

If you prefer solving puzzles the old-fashioned way with pencil and paper, click on the Printer-Friendly Page link.

There is a new challenge each day, but if that's not enough you can always visit the codebreaker archive!

Puerto Rico

November 25th 2009 03:15
The players are plantation owners in Puerto Rico during the pioneering days. Growing up to five different kind of crops: Corn, Indigo, Coffee, Sugar and Tobacco, they must try to run their business more efficiently than their close competitors; growing crops and storing them efficiently, developing San Juan with useful buildings, deploying their colonists to best effect, selling crops at the right time, and most importantly, shipping their goods back to Europe for maximum benefit.

The game system lets players choose the order of the phases in each turn by allowing each player to choose a role from those remaining when it is their turn. No role can be selected twice in the same round. The player who selects the best roles to advance their position during the game will win.

You'll need to install the Curl RTE runtime environment to play the game. Once loaded the games runs in a small applet. The applet allows you to connect to the official Puerto Rico server where you can play the online version against human or computer players. You can also play a private game on your own PC.
Keep in mind that the AI isn't very smart but will give good practice to new players.

Red Remover

November 20th 2009 12:02
Red shapes are miserable, remove them all by clicking on them.

Dark red shapes are strong and can't be clicked, make them fall off the screen instead.

Green shapes are lovely, keep them on the screen.

Blue shapes are neutral, it doesn't matter if they stay or go.

Look at the shape's faces to see which way they will fall.

There are shapes and supports, you need to remove or keep the appropriate ones too!

The game uses simple physics very effectively but bends the rules a little sometimes, shapes aren't always green and some levels are time based!

Genre: Puzzle
Time to Play: 20 mins
Difficulty: Easy/Medium
Available From: Addicting Games
