Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe

November 26th 2008 11:46
Speedball 2 was released in 1990 and produced by the Bitmap Brothers. It became one of their most successful titles.

Speedball is played about 100 years in the future in a steel arena with a steel ball. The only rule is to get the ball into your opponent’s goal and score points. Each match lasts exactly 3 minutes. You can hit and injure other players as much as you like, and they will do the same to you. Each team has 9 players on court with three subs and the computer will toggle players so you control the one closest to the ball. You also score points for injuring players. Injured players can be substituted but if you run out of subs then too bad. There are targets on the floor and walls which can be hit for bonus points. Originally you will receive 10 points for a goal but this can be increased to 15 or 20 via the use of these score multipliers. You have five game modes to choose from. knockout, cup, league, practise and multiplayer.

Genre: Future Violent Sport
Time to Play: 3 minutes
Difficulty: medium

One of the most popular toys of all time, over 300,000,000 Rubik's Cubes have been sold since its invention in 1974 (it went into mass production in 1980). Believe it or not, the world record time for solving the cube is 7.08 seconds set earlier in 2008.

If you've been living in a cave on Mars and don't know the rules for solving a Rubik's Cube, it works like this: Each of the six faces is covered by 9 stickers of six different colours - normally being white, yellow, orange, red, blue, and green. The aim of Stunt Pilot is to complete all the courses and fly through the rings without crashing. The controls are simple to learn yet hard to master. Use the up and down arrow keys to fly. (In the controls menu you can set up to mean down or vice versa).
When flying the plane remember if you point the nose in a certain direction it will stay there until you move it back! With a bit of practice you'll get the hang of it. Some courses seem difficult at first, however if you choose the correct angle you will fly through multiple rings with ease.
The controls and graphics are nice and slick making Stunt Pilot a fun, free game to try
