Final Fantasy RPG

Final Fantasy


One of the most famous RPGs of all time and exceptionally popular in Japan, there are 28 different games in the Final Fantasy series, with the first one premiering on the NES back in 1987. The next instalment Final Fantasy XIII will be released in 2009. Final Fantasy XI is the first MMORPG in the series where a monthly subscription fee must be paid.
What about those people who want to play Final Fantasy for free online?

Lineage II

Lineage II: The Chaotic Throne multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) set 150 years before the original Lineage.
The game's virtual world is medieval in style. There are two kingdoms in the game. The Kingdom of Aden in which players will start if playing as a human, elf or dark elf. If playing as a Dwarf or Orc then the Kingdom of Elmore will be your base.
Players start by choosing which race their avatar will be, their profession (mystic or fighter) and class. As the game progresses upgrades and other options will become available.
Performing quests as an individual or team will gain players new skills, experience points and items. There is siege warfare and many monsters to battle plus player vs player (PvP) combat is common. Other players can be killed, but there is a karma system in place to prevent players being attacked who aren't fighting back.
In addition Lineage 2 has many social, political and economical interaction between players.

Final Fantasy XI

Final Fantasy XI Online, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) set in the world of Vana'diel. The game is extremely popular in Japan and has over half a million subscribers. Like other MMORPGs you can customise a character to play throughout the game. Performing tasks and completing quests allows you to power up your character or avatar. As well as tasks you need to complete missions to advance through the game's storyline, improve in rank and access new areas. There are also battles against monsters. In Final Fantasy XI you are unable to battle other players directly, but can compete against other players in some games and competitions. To add another dimension to the game players can participate in side mini-games and other activities.

Guild Wars

Of all the popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) games, Guild Wars is the only one to offer online play with no subscription fees.
There are three campaigns to the series which are: Guild Wars Prophecies, Guild Wars Factions, Guild Wars Nightfall and an expansion pack: Guild Wars: Eye of the North. All were released between 2005 and 2007.
There is also a sequel in the works, Guild Wars 2 which will feature updated graphics and gameplay, but will continue to have no subscription fees.

In Guild Wars you can play in campaign mode as an individual or cooperatively. There is also a combative player vs. player (PvP) component of the game in which you can choose characters at maximum level and with the best equipment, then head to an area set aside for such battles. This feature is quite unique to Guild Wars.
All three chapters are set in different sections of the world of Tyria. You create an avatar to play the storyline of a campaign. You will be a hero who tries to save Tyria from various villains. You can team up with other players, or with characters in the game such as heroes or henchmen to perform quests. ArenaNet hosts all Guild Wars games on its servers. ArenaNet hold Guild Wars tournaments where the best players and compete for the chance to play at gaming conventions where they can win huge cash prizes.

Solitaire combined with Blackjack.
Cards are played onto the play field into stacks like regular solitaire. The object of the game is to create stacks which add up to 21.
The deck initially contains 52 cards minus the ones which have been dealt onto the play stacks. Each time a card is moved from a Play Stack onto the Play Field a new card is dealt. Clicking on the deck will force a new card to be dealt

Defender of the Crown

Defender of the Crown was a revolutionary game because of its high quality graphics when first released by Cinemaware for the Commodore Amiga in 1986. Afterwards it was ported to many other consoles.
It is a strategy game set in England during the middle ages with various factions fighting for control. You must take control of the territories one by one until all of England is under your rule. To conquer a territory you must take the enemy castles be defeating armies, laying siege to the castle or looting it.
To win you will need to amass larger armies than your enemies and attack at the right time

The Three Stooges

The Three Stooges video game was originally released back in 1986 and came out on multiple platforms such as the Amiga, GBA and NES.
The game of course features Larry, Curly and Moe and you play a number of mini games in an attempt to raise money to save an old widow's orphanage.
At the time of release the game was quite advanced. It featured actual speech from the stooges, and has multiple endings depending on how much money is raised
