Craps

December 21st 2006 01:35
Craps is a casino dice game. Players wager money against the casino on the outcome of one roll, or of a series of rolls of two dice.

The basic game of craps is as follows:
Players take turns rolling two dice, and they all bet on the same roll, regardless of who is rolling. The player rolling the dice is called the "shooter". The first roll of a new round is called the "come-out roll." All bets are based on the total of both dice together, or on the specific combination of the roll.

Craps features a plethora of bets, but the most fundamental is the "pass line" wager, which nearly all players make. On a come-out roll, the pass line bettors win when either a 7 or 11 is rolled. A 2, 3, or 12 loses, and is called "craps". When any other number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) is rolled, it is called the point. Once a point has been set, the pass-line bettor wins if the point is rolled again, and loses if a 7 is rolled first ("seven-out"). A shooter will continue to roll (even if he/she rolls craps) until a seven-out, at which point the dice pass to the next shooter for a new come-out roll.

The opposite of a pass line bet is the "don't pass" bet, which wins on a come-out roll of 2 or 3, loses on 7 or 11, ties on 12, and goes to the point round when any other number is rolled. (In some casinos the 2 is barred and in such cases the 2 will tie but the 12 will win). In the point round the don't pass bet wins if a 7 is rolled and loses if the point is rolled.

It is very difficult to give a brief overview of the game. It's highly recommended that you read the Wikipedia page on Craps here, or the help section in the online game to get a good understanding of the many aspects of Craps. It might seem intimidating at first, but once you gain an understanding of the game you should find it action-packed and very exciting.

Place the symbols by clicking on an empty cell. You can delete a symbol you've placed by choosing "clear" on the menu.

Homestar Runner

December 4th 2006 23:16
Homestar Runner is an internet Flash cartoon series. It mixes an absurdist sense of humour with references to 1980s and 1990s pop culture, notably video games, classic television and popular music. Cartoons are nominally centred on Homestar Runner, a terrific yet unintelligent athlete. The series of cartoons in which the antagonist Strong Bad answers email from viewers, called Strong Bad Email, is the most prominent feature of the site. The site has also grown to encompass dozens of other characters.

The Homestar Runner website also contains many free online games. The first games were simple in nature and are now found under Super Old Games-n-Such. More recent games are more complex, spoofing many popular 80's videogames. The greatest gaming endeavour on the site is probably "Peasant's Quest", which is an adventure game featuring a young peasant (in short pants) named Rather Dashing, who vows to kill the destroyer of his cottage: Trogdor

Tycoon Games

December 4th 2006 00:40
Tycoon or economic simulation games are games that simulate an economy. In economic simulator games, players seldom interact with units (like subjects, individuals or vehicles) in the game, but rather lay or determine the foundations for their situation. Thus, all effects on the populace will be indirect, similar to god games.

Shockwave has three Tycoon games at Tycoon Fever that you can play for free online
